9th Sep 2014 – Interactive Session with PF Commissioner

An Interactive Session was held with Mr. Ningshen Thothar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner II, SRO K.R. Puram along with his team at WACIA on Tuesday, the 9th Sep 2014 at 11 am.

The topic was on Universal Account Number (UAN), Updates on recent amendments of EPF rules, Minimum Pension, Assurance benefits under EDLI etc.,

The technical team redressed queries on the technical front.

50 people attended the programme and had their queries cleared suitably.

22nd Aug  2014 – First Aid Training Programme 

A full day training programme on “First Aid” was organised on Thursday, 22nd Aug 2014 which was conducted by St. John Ambulance Association.  Mr. Sannamariappa was the trainer.  40 participants attended the training programme.

21st Aug 2014 – Interactive Session with Jt. Commissioner, BBMP and Corporator, Mahadevapura.

An Interactive Session was organised on 21st Aug 2014 from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm at WACIA between the following dignitaries and representatives of member industries:-

2.  Sri N. Pillappa, Corporator, Mahadevapura

The President, Mr. R.N. Hegde welcomed the dignitaries.  He along with the  Office Bearers and Past Presidents felicitated them with mementos and bouquets.

Subsequently the Interactive Session took place.  and the was very fruitful. Members interacted with the representatives of different departments and explained the problems faced by them.  The representatives of concerned departments noted the points and replied suitably and assured that immediate steps will be taken to solve the problems. The session was followed  by lunch.

6th AUG 2014 : E-INITIATIVES UNDER KVAT ACT

 

A workshop on “D-initiatives under KVAT Act” was organised by WACIA on Wednesday, the 6th Aug 2014 at WACIA from 11.00 am to 2.00 p.m.

Mr. B.T. Manohar, Tax Consultant and Chairman of State Taxes Committee, FKCCI updated on KVAT and other Commercial Taxes with amendments/notifications and circulars.  Dr. B.V. Murali Krishna, Jt. Director (e-audit) Commercial Tax demonstrated on e-initiatives focusing on uploading of purchase and sales towards e-audit.

A number of 46 participants attended the programme and appraised.  They also gave a very good feedback.


Export Management Program by FIEO

A workshop on “Export Management Programme” was organised by WACIA,  jointly with Karnataka Chapter of Federation of Indian Export Organisations, an apex export promotion body set up by Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India on Wednesday, the 23rd July 2014, at WACIA FROM 3.00 pm to  6.00 pm. followed by Hi-Tea.

Senior level officers from the Office of Jt.DGFT, Customs, Export Credit and Guarantee Corporation, Banks, VTPC besides FIEO  made presentation during the event and also  provided required clarifications to the participants. 50 members participated in this event.

The objective of the seminar was to sensitize the business community on the opportunities available in export trade, including the associated market requirements,  a better understanding of the reasons for exporting, available export opportunities, basic export market requirements for export business and gain  knowledge of related services.

Mr. R.N. Hegde, President welcomed Mr. R. Asokan, Jt. Dy. Director General, FIEO & his team and the participants.


41st Annual General Body Meeting Conducted

The 41st Annual General Body Meeting was successfully conducted and Office Bearers for the year 2014-15 have been elected. The new office bearers and their details have been listed in the Members section.


Training Programme on 12th Jun 2014

A training programme on “Supervisory Development” was organised on Thursday, the 12th Jun 2014 at WACIA from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. The faculty were Sri S.N. Gopinath and Sri K.S. Malagi. 28 Participants attended the programme. The programme was appreciated by all of the participants and they had the opinion that the same was very interesting and effective.

Interactive Session – 27th May 2014

An Interactive Session was scheduled to be held on 27th May 2014 at 11.00 at WACIA between the member industries and Jt. Commissioner, BBMP, Mahadevapura to discuss the issues related to the industries. But due to busy schedule, the Jt. Commissioner could not attend the session.

However, 42 members had attended the session. Their points for discussion were collected for forwarding the Jt. Director, who has assured that he will visit WACIA on 10th of June 2014 without fail.

Now the interactive session is rescheduled for 10th June 2014


TRAINING PROGRAMME ON FIRST AID – 20th MAY 2014

A training Programme on “First Aid” was organised on 20th May 2014 at WACIA.  The programme was arranged by St. Johns Ambulance Association.  Sri Sannamariappa conducted the programme and demonstrated practically how to overcome when situations araises with available equipments.  34 participants attended the programme.  The participants appreciated the way the training programme was conducted”.


INTERACTIVE SESSION – 19th MAR 2014

An interactive session was held on 19th Mar 2014 on “Compliance to the laws enforced by the Department of Factories & Boilers” from 2.30 pm to  4.30 pm.  The programme was conducted by  Sri Jagadish, Dy. Director, Factories and Boilers.  82 participants attended the programme.

Free Family Medical Camp at ESIC Dyavasandra and Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at WACIA on 4th February 2014

WACIA jointly with ESIS Medical Services, State Bank of India, SME Branch, Mahadevapura, Rotary Bangalore Halasuru and Rotary Bangalore Whitefield Central are organising a free Family Medical camp and Voluntary Blood donation camp on Tuesday, the 4th Feb 2014 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm for the benefit of employees of member industries.

The Camp will be inaugurated at 9.30 am. by Mr. M.B. Dyaberi, I.A.S., Secretary, Labour Department, Govt. of Karnataka.

The Health camp will held in ESI Hospital Premises Dvavasandra and mainly focussed on the following:-
– Heart Problems
– Chest & Breathing
– Eye
– Bones & Joints
– Diabetes
– Ear Nose & Throat
– Oral & Dental
– Skin
– Women Health
– Children health

Cardiologists, Pneumonologists, Physicians, Orthopaedicians, Ophtholmologists, ENT Specialists, Dermatologists, Gynaecologists, Paediatricians and surgeons from ESIS medical services will conduct the camp.

Dentists from M. S. Ramaiah Dental College will provide Dental Care.
Medicines and Lab tests will be provided on Free of Cost.
ESI Card holders will get the entire cost of the Spectacles reimbursed from ESI.
Blood Donation Camp will held in WACIA premises from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. by Manipal Hospital.

WACIA CRICKET TOURNAMENT 29 DEC 2013

WACIA organised a Tennis Ball Limited Over Cricket Tournament for member industries on 29th Dec 2013 at ITI Cricket Stadium, Dooravaninagar, Bangalore.

Seventeen teams from 15 industries participated in the tournament. The tournament commenced at 8.30 and concluded by 5.30 pm.

The matches were played with eight overs to each team on knock out basis. Dr. Purna Chandra Rao, Chairman, WACIA Sports Committee, inaugurated the tournament.

The President, Mr. B.G. Kodandaram and some of the Office Bearers witnessed the matches.

The finals were played between M/s VST Tillers Tractors Ltd., and M/s SLV Enterprises. VST Tillers Tractors Limited scored 55 runs in 8 overs whereas SLV Enterprises could score 50 runs only. Till the end of the last ball bowled, the match was very thrilling and xciting. Both the teams fought equally well. Finally VST Tillers Tractors Ltd., finished the match by defeating SLV Enterprises by 5 runs.


OPEN HOUSE MEET WITH MEMBER INDUSTRIES on 27th Dec 2013

An Open House Meet was held on 27th Dec 2013 at WACIA from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm to elucidate the views of the members regarding the various issues that the members are facing from different Government Departments.

Mr. B.G. Kodandaram, President welcomed and addressed the members present. He explained the purpose of the meeting and requested them to bring fourth the issues with regard to problems faced by them.

The points discussed in the meeting by the members mainly were:-

  1. Traffic related issues from Tin Factory to I.T.P.L
  2. Introduction of Lane System in the above area.
  3. Banning of movement of lorries during peak hours between Tin Factory Junction to I.T.P.L.
  4. Introduction of Volvo Buses From City to I.T.P.L. passing through Tin Factory –I.T.P.L. Road.
  5. Garbage lifting in the Industrial Area by the concerned authority.
  6. Street Lighting in the Industrial Area.
  7. Un-Scheduled Power Cut for Industries which is hampering the work of the Industries.
  8. Corrective Action by the BBMP authorities for Blocking the Raja, Kaluve near Tata Elxsi by Laying a sewage pipe line inside the Raja Kaluve.

In the Concluding remarks the president informed the members that he will organize the meeting in the Association by inviting the concerned commissioner/Secretary of Government Department with all members to sort out the issues being faced by the members.

11.7.2013 :- Press meet on Metro issues
Press meet at Press Club, Cubbon Park, Bangalore was organized to explainthe problems if metro rail is introduced. Mr. B.G. Kodandaram, President, Mr. S. PanduRao, Immediate Past President, Mr. R.N. Hegde, Vice-President and others spoke on this occasion.

26.07.2013 :- Interactive Session with Director of Factories
An Interactive Sessionwith Director of Factories, Boilers, Industrial safety and health was held at WACIA on Friday, the 26th Jul 2013. 56 persons participated in the programme.

04.09.2013 :- Factory visit to Makino
A Factory visit was arranged to Makino India Ltd on Wednesday, the 4th Sep 2013. 23 persons participated in the visit. The visit was appreciated by all the participants. The visiting team was honoured with lunch before their departure.

22.10.2013 :- Factory visit to Saint Gobain
A Factory visit was arranged to Saint Gobain Crystals & Detectors India, Hoodi, Rajapalya on Tuesday, the 22nd Oct 2013. 12 persons participated in the visit.

23rd Oct 2013 :- Free Eye Screening camp by Sankara Eye Hospital
Sankara Eye Hospital, Kundalahalli, Bangaloreconded a “Free Eye Screening Camp” at WACIA on Wednesday, the 23rd Oct 2013 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Free eye screening camp was conducted for 116 people on that day. Prescreening was done through 3nethra through a technology which has the ability to identify 5 major eye ailments – Diabetic retina, Glaucoma, Corneal opacity, Cataract and Refraction problems which constitute 90% of visual impairment.

Through post screening, people identified to have refractive error; were prescribed for spectacles at the site. The Mobile Vision Screening Van was equipped to make the spectacles. High power prescriptions were delivered to the patients within 20 days. Spectacles were provided on payment of nominal charges as under:-

Cost per spectacle (frame + world class Essilor lenses)
Single Vision Rs. 250/-
Bifocal – Rs. 350/-
People advised for surgery, were given a referral slip to visit the base hospital. Assurance was given by the hospital for surgery at a subsidized cost.

26.10.2013 :-Factory License camp at Wacia by Dept of Factories.
A progrmme on renewal of factory license was held on Saturday, the 26th Oct 2013 at WACIA. Application forms for renewal of factory licenses were issued by Department of Factory and collected with cheques on the spot. 15 Industries participated in the programme.

Medical Camp held on 22rd May 2013 at WACIA

 

WACIA jointly with ESIS Medical Services, State bank of India, SME Branch, Mahadevapura, Rotary Bangalore Halasuru and Rotary Bangalore Whitefield Central organised a free family Health camp and Voluntary Blood donation camp on Wednesday, the 22nd May 2013 for the benefit of employees of our member industries.

The Camp was inaugurated at 9.30 am.

Registration started at 9.30am. The camp was conducted up to 4.30 pm.

Health camp was held in ESI Hospital Premises Dvavasandra and mainly focussed on the following:-

About 650 employees of Industries with their families availed this golden opportunity of getting free Medical check up, Lab tests, X-ray, Spectacles and Medicines etc.,

Blood Donation Camp was held in WACIA premises. 111 units of blood were collected in this camp.
